One down, one to go.
After 23 straight drawings with no grand prize winner, one winning ticket was sold for the $450 million Mega Millions jackpot in Friday night's drawing, according to the Mega Millions website.
The winning numbers were 28, 30, 39, 59, 70 and the Mega Millions ball was 10.
The winning ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven in Port Richey, Florida, according to the website.
Of course, the winner will only get the full $450 million if he or she accepts the prize via 29 annual payments. If the winner takes a lump-sum payout, as the vast majority of winners do, the cash payout will equal about $281 million, less taxes.
Eight other lotto players in six states won big money. Players in California, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Virginia, Oklahoma and Texas won $1 million by matching 5 numbers. Two other players -- one in Oklahoma and one in Texas -- won $3 million because they matched 5 numbers and purchased a "megaplier" that increased their winnings.

I WISH I'd been the one to win the big jackpot!!!  I didn't get a ticket and now don't have a ticket for tonight's drawing either.  Oh, well, tomorrow's another day, as Scarlett O'Hara said.  A few months ago, I came close to winning the $1 million.  I had three numbers exact and two others were off by only one.  I believe that would have netted me about $650 K after taxes.  That would be enough to make me relatively financially secure for good, given that my house is just about paid off (about $1,500 to go, don't know why I haven't just paid it off because the money's been sitting in the bank earning little for a while) and I live very frugally.

Funny story my niece was here & we went by this 7-11 (Port Richey, Fl) she said that's where we need to buy our tickets!!! Always 7-11...well, I bought at a Speedway on same road☹️🙄

I woke up up this morning I had tons of texts, voicemail, and calls from my family wanting to know if it was me!  I had no idea it was won...but, I know where the 7-11 is!!!!

Their theory was to go tonight and buy a few Powerball tickets in case "lightning strikes twice"!!!!  I didn't I hope I didn't make another mistake!!! Lol

oh and I had 1 number so it wasn't me!!!☹️😬

If my hairdresser doesnt show up on Tuesday for my appointment I'll know why -- she lives right near that particular 7-11... I'd be so excited It that was her!!!

I didn't play. I see someone in New Hampshire won the one tonight now (As well as the person in Florida the other day).

I played one of the big ones last year I had  ZERO numbers...lol.. (That was the only time I played).

But i can tell you this, some people won over a million in my county (and 1 in our town) a few years back by playing just our states lottery. I was going to do that this time but i didn't bother. (My thinking is everyones playing the nationwide ones and not our states so maybe chances would have been better)

Lastly, to be honest, I really would not want those huge jackpots. It would make me nervous and plus money isn't number one in my life. IF I played and won Id give most of it away to help others (after giving some to my family).
