Within the past week or so I have been giving myself B-12 injections. I have been taking one shot per day and then it will be twice a week and then finally once a month. When the person in the doctor's office called me that I would have to come in for the injections I asked if I could do them myself. She said yes and called in the prescriptions for the B-12, needles, and alcohol swabs. I give the injections in my thigh. Now I do have a daughter with diabetes and when she was a child I did get plenty of experience giving her injections.
I do not find it painful giving myself injections. I pull up the skin on my thigh and stick the needle in and then press the B-12 into my muscle.

I get a B-12 shot every month and it costs me $17 and some change. I have Medicare also.

When my dad was alive he had Senior Blue insurance too, in addition to Medicare for that reason. As a matter of fact, most people I know who have Medicare have another health insurance too.
When I first enrolled in Medicare and to this day I have another health care coverage. I now have Medicare Plan F as my secondary which costs $148.86 per month which is well worth it. I never have a co-pay and never see a bill, they pay what Medicare A & B don't. Good luck with your cataract surgery, I still have to schedule mine.

I was never under the impression that Medicare was supposed to cover everything.
