Old jokes can still be funny.  At least I think so.

Re: Medical errors, third leading cause of deaths in the US

I was reading an article in Time magazine a couple of months back (at my doctors office) and it was discussing the amount of hours doctors work as residents and how being overworked is the number one reason for medical errors.It also discussed the depression rate of doctors compared to the rest of the population. It is 22% higher than the rest of the population.

It seems insane that knowing how stress and lack of sleep account for more errors when driving a car than alcohol does yet we expect people who watch our health and even operate on us to work 80-90hrs a week. These are the same people telling us to cut back on work and stress.

There is nothing not to buy. Doctors lack of sleep and being overworked are the number one reason for medical errors. That is a fact.

@Mominohio

Thanks for this information.

Did your source say that was why people avoided getting care?  I'd think they avoid it because of cost and fear of needles, surgery and the like.
