My hubby had a telamed visit with a early in the Pandemic, we were required to pay $125 up front and they would not file the visit with our insurance.
I finally got a bill from them in Mid July and sent it to our insurance and well it was incorrect.
Fast forward to early September I needed to speak to the billing dept and get what I thought was a correct bill. The copy I kept was cut of in the copying
This bill never reached the Insurance and I needed to request a copy.
By this point I had the email of a supervisor at the insurance and e mailed him the bill yesterday.
Well you guess it, there is important information missing like the
CPT Code and the providers Tax ID.
I can not beelive it is 7 months and we still do not have our money back.
This siutation is very frustrating

I've only had one Telmed visit. This was early during the pandemic. (the lock down...what a time to get sick!) I was too scared to visit my regular doctor, because I would have to go to a lab. I googled how to get a prescription for a common ailment without a doctor's visit The company was Plush Care. They only took you if you had the medical insurance they had listed. And they only treated you if it was common ailment. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield. They accepted it and it was fine.It was my first medical zoom type visit on my smart phone. I described it to the doctor and she gave me a prescription and that was it. Totally free. It was only later that I discovered my own doctor was on Telemed (but another company)

With so many offices quickly closed and people working from home it is not surprising that there is missing and incorrect paperwork. It will take some time for things to get straightened out.

It certainly is frustrating. This is what I do for a living so I understand what happened here. Everything happened very fast with the pandemic, it took time for the insurance companies to decide how they would handle and reimburse telemedicine visits. It took time for that information to get out to doctor's offices. It sounds like your doctor is in one of those small practices that didn't keep up with the changes. They handled it wrong from the very beginning; they should not have billed you but they didn't know how to bill a telemedicine visit and they didn't bother to call the insurer and ask for assistance. They just took your money and called it a day. There's no CPT code on that bill because they billed you and not the insurer. It was "self pay" so it didn't need a CPT code or a Tax ID number. If you are going to submit it to the insurance company, you have to ask them for a new bill that includes all of the information they provide when they bill an insurance company. A copy of that "self pay" bill is insufficient. Your problem is not with the insurance company, it's with the doctor's biller.

My DH has had several telemed visits. The office didn't charge upfront and they did file the insurance without a problem. This office you used obviously doesn't know what they are doing with telemed visits, which insurance companies do recognize and accept.

I guess I didn't realize how lucky DH and I have been. I had a virtual appointment with my doctor for an illness and I paid my co-pay amount and the rest was billed to my insurance without an issue.
My DH had a couple of routine appointments with 2 different physicians that were done virtually and again, he paid his co-pay and they billed everyting else to insurance.

I'm sure there will be lots of glitches with this new way of seeing patients.
I had a telamed visit in July.
Medicare paid the entire bill. I don't pay a co-pay for any medical care.

I'm a tad lost about this but based on the last thread I'm afraid to ask a question.
So I'll just say good luck.

Usually I put dates on the calendar to remind me to why something isn't happening. That way I keep checking. Right now I am waiting for authorization from the Neurosurg for a test, for sure I am going to keep an eye on it. Helps.

I have kept up with this bill since the appointment happened, and the bill is still not correct.
