My left eye hurts. It's a throbbing kind of pain and it really hurts.

And before all you people WITHOUT an MD behind your name start jumping all over me, I HAVE had this eye checked: by my primary care doctor and my opthamologist. I guess it's time for round 3; and I hope someone can figure this out because I'm about ready to gouge my eye out.

Without going into a LONG story, I have considered that it might be a problem with a nerve in my neck (yes, I've had problems in that regard too. My doctor burned off the nerve a couple of years ago and...BOOM! there went the pain (this is a perfectly legitimate treatment--I looked into that too). This treatment is called a "neurotomy"; often the nerve grown back after a year or two or three and I suspect that's what is going on here.

Wish me luck!

@FuzzyFace

Sorry you are having this problem.  I'm sure it is quite painful.  Anything to do with your eyes is scary.

Have you considered going to Mayo if your Dr.'s aren't helping. My daughter went from Doctor to Doctor and finally took things into her own hands and called Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville.  They are amazing and have whole teams looking at your situation. They soon discovered my daughter's problem and keep a very close eye on her even now.

Hope you can find the problem soon.

I'm so sorry you're in pain.  My experience with doctors is not positive but I do think you are doing the right thing and taking it into your own hands.  You HAVE to be your own advocate.  I wish you luck and a pain-free future.

When my sinuses get clogged up sometimes my eyes will really hurt. Try a decongestant.The clogged ( swelled) sinus puts pressure on a nerve and nerves don't like being pressured, sensitive little things that they are.
