@dulwich. I was just reading online that Queen Elizabeth will be sending out, together with a note from her,  the Maundy Gift silver coins this year due to the pandemic prohibiting her from handing  them out in person. The coins will commemorate her 95th  birthday.

 

Since you have mentioned that some of your relatives have been  in service to the Queen, I wondered whether any of your relatives have ever received a Maundy gift from her, or whether you know anyone who has?

Wasn't the history of that supposed to be that the touch of the monach would cure illnesses? Or is that a different British royalty tradition?
