Massive Snowstorm Cripples Greece, Aegean Isles and Turkey

As a resident of Virginia, where we recently had a chaotic and feckless attempt at rescuing motorists stuck on the I-95 corridor during a blizzard, and as someone with relatives in the affected and soon-to-be-affected areas of Greece and the Aegean Isles, I feel deeply sympathetic with those who have suffered from this anomaly of a blizzard in that region. 

 

I have first cousins in Athens, a former sister-in-law on an Aegean island and my husband's extended family on the island of Crete.  The prediction is that the storm is heading toward Crete.

 

I hope all are safe and will remain safe.

My son had a soceer game on last night. They were playing in Turkey. It was snowing like crazy.
