First, the visitors who barged in without a mask are boors.  You and your husband did not owe them anything except a "see you another time" through the door.

Second, you both need to develop a strategy for when this happens--and it will.  Think about talking to people through the door and making it a habit.

Until your 2 weeks are up I would think you would feel safe masking--both of you.  You have been so careful up to now.  I know my husband is more careful as we get close to our release date.

For the good of society it is so easy to continue to mask until the country is AOK.  It just shows you care.

Hey I'm afraid to admit I feed my cat nomal pet food. There are people who will jump down my throat and accuse me of all sorts of things because I don't hand cook special meals for my kitty boys. I mentioned it once in a post and then realized what was up very quickly.

@Porcelain

I feed my Kitties the same, I think you are a good kitty MOM.

I’m not afraid to state, DH and I both work in hospitals, we both have ALWAYS taken our shoes off before entering our home.

Hey, no need to walk what you may have stepped in into your home! 😊

OP - you sound like you are doing overkill as part of your daily life in general.

There is no scientific evidence which requires wearing of gloves at the grocery store

There is no scientific evidence requiring you to take off your clothes upon entering your home

There is no scientific evidence that you need to immediately shower upon entering your home

You do not need to double mask

You are dissinfecting your house too much if you are cleaning every surface you touch multiple times per day (this actually can cause you harm)

COVID is NOT spread outdoors in the fresh air (People should not be required to wear a mask outdoors)

The person who had COVID in September is NOT likely to spread it to you know.

COVID is NOT spread through touch so petting your dog is NO cause for concern.

Honestly if you sound like someone who is extremely scared and afraid of everything and will likely be doing all of these things for years.

I feel like I'm the only one around that is actually wearing a mask.

@songbird There is absolutely NOOOOOO reason to be wearing a mask while you are outdoors on a walk.  I will NEVER wear a mask while outdoors walking my dog.  Nature is the best ventilation system ever (This is science based do some research).  Chances are if you are taking a walk outside you aren't even getting close to another person.

Its time for people to stop living in this much fear of everything.

@KKJ , what one posts is open for everyone to see and therefor it is everyone's business.  She hasn't been shy about posting her feelings on the virus and how she was continuing on with her life as if nothing was happening.

If you are going to put it out there, be prepared for comments.  And don't feel bad for her. She never comes back to respond to anything.  I don't even think she reads any responses.

It's diabolical how they get people to open up about their lives then use that against them. It sure makes it hard to trust and be open and honest with your fellow posters.

@Lali1 , diabolical?  That's pretty dramatic.  No one makes anyone open up about their lives.  She throws all this stuff out their herself.  We all do.

@mimomof4 , we have a mask mandate in Ohio.  Even outside if we cannot socially distance from others, we are required to wear a mask.

I walk my dog daily and I don't put a mask on but I don't walk in a crowded area. I just walk my neighborhood.  There are other people periodically walking but we aren't even on the same side of the street.

@Lipstickdiva last Spring she kept on posting again and again that Covid was no worse than the flu and people needed to stop panicking.  Straight up ridiculous comments.

Re: Mask fatigue

[ Edited ]

I may be wrong but it seems as though, those who are bragging, pretty confident and even proud of living their life pretty much "like they did before" this awful virus only have to take care of themselves and maybe their

husbands but not take care of or help others who are vulnerable. I don't know.

Or at least I hope not.

And those of us who are "paranoid", "living in a basement," maybe working everyday just have to try to stay away from all the self-righteous people who are so proud of living their lives in "freedom."

Just wait to see how we all will feel if we have to shut down again like Europe! Thanks people who value their "right" to do whatever the heck they want! So think about this for all of us ok?

But none of us, will ever convince the others here of how we feel. We are brick walls. "And never the twain shall meet."

It is really disheartening.
