Re: Mary Wilson

[ Edited ]

How sad.  She was my favorite Supreme,  having stayed through everything from the group's founding until the final concerts.

And she was still working on her music, planning to release a new album in March.  She was also involved in planning many tributes this year to The Supremes 60th anniversary!

@catter70

So many artists from my youth are leaving too soon.

Mary Wilson was such a talent and beauty...those were the days for music that will never leave my heart.

Sing on, Mary.

What sad news, she was a lovely gracious woman with a talent to sing.  I always loved the girl groups of the fifties and sixties, the Chantels, Crystals, Martha and the Vandellas to name but only a few.  When the Supremes came about, they rose to the top and stayed there for awhile, something other female groups didn't achieve even though they should have.  However, Mary was a big part of the Supremes and she left her legacy in the music world.

May she be with God at peace.

May Mary Wilson rest in peace.  Oh my, a sudden death?

The Supremes continue to be my all-time favorite "girl group."  How many sweet memories I have attached to the soundtrack they provided for my life.

I'm so sad to hear this.

Mary Wilson was my favorite Supreme also.  This is so very sad.

She was just 15 years old when she co-founded the Supremes.  A trailblazer.

May she Rest in Eternal Peace.

Very sad indeed, loved the Supremes and Mary was my favorite so poised and beautiful. I read she had future plans for her music with Universal I think and the Supremes upcoming 60th anniversary!

RIP

turquoiselover,

I copied and pasted the caption that accompanied this photo.  All I did was edit the original punctuation and delete a last sentence that was unnecessary.

After having messed up up my caption to the original Four Seasons photo I posted a few months ago (a group I know personally, to a degree) when I confused the late Tommy DeVito with the late Nick Massi, I am going to become gun-shy about naming group members in their youth.  My defense was that I had never met Nick Massi nor Tommy DeVito; I had gotten to know Tommy indirectly in his mature years.  Spoke to him on the phone once after having several plans of meeting him for dinner fall through.

Thank you for the correction, but I  am not touching anything right now.
