Even Martha Stewart's giving spuds props!
"Be smart about starch"
In the current issue (April) of her magazine, Martha Stewart Living,
she talks about the benefits of potatoes. Even Dr. McDougall is quoted!
The tides are a-turnin, I tell 'ya!

Thank goodness I am so ready to ride the wave of the tide turn. I am tickled that I have never liked sour cream but I do have to be very careful on the butter. I just try to use spice for a heated spud. Now they need to work on french fries from grease turn out to be good for us.![]()

In the text above, it mentions avoiding 'fries'....but you can bake fries. Baked sweet potato fries are the b.e.s.t! I like to bake them 'dry' then add the desired flavor in a dipping sauce.

I have never been a big potato fan, and especially don't care for mashed potatoes. I do like them baked, but usually with salt only on them. To me french fries aren't potatoes--they're grease. They're GOOD but it isn't about the potato part! LOL!!!

Potatoes are new, really? Did anyone tell the Irish? ![]()
I've always loved potatoes and know many ways to cook them, but don't kid yourselves, folks, they are not all you need to eat for good nutrition. Remember to eat all colors of veg and get your protein.

I buy them frozen raw and bake them all the time. They are just as delicious without the grease.

I eat baked potatoes all the time, three a week. I do use Smart Balance on them, pepper and onion powder. Occasionally use small curd cottage cheese instead. That is a meal to me.

I LOVE potatoes - always have, always will!
My Mum told me when I was a baby I would not eat any baby food. My grandmother (a very wise woman) said to feed me mashed potatoes .And, I've been loving them ever since
!
I never listen to the latest "what's good/what's not for you food
. I think our bodies tell us what to eat and how much, if we listen.

I love sweet potatoes. We eat them several times a week.
I'd eat anything Martha made!
