Yes, @bonappetit, so true, and of that generation, one of my favorites, the ethereal Suzanne Farrell. 

 

But maybe because Tallchief was among the first, in this country, to achieve in the stratospheric level she attained, and among the first to win recognition for American ballet, to me she's the pinnacle!

My hat is off to you, @maestra-- what wonderful experiences you have had!   I will henceforth think of you as "ballet-maestra".   Imagine being a dancer, AND seeing both Tallchief, AND Nureyev up close-- lucky, lucky you.
