@Desert Lily  I look forward to Lent just for the hot cross buns and paczki. LOL

Our grocery store carries both. Their paczki are like jelly donuts on steroids. Soooo much filling. YUM

We had a King Cake once many years ago. We ordered it from NOLA to celebrate Mardi Gras with friends of ours. Thank goodness no one choked on the baby Jesus. It was a concern because we were drinking Hurricanes. Woman LOLWoman Wink

@Desertdi  I hear ya! There is no rye bread up here, either. And nobody knows poppyseed or nut rolls. 😥

Kringle, absolutely a Danish treat. I odered some from WI a few times for a guy I knew. His mom was Dane and he said she would make them at the holidays.

Paczki? Good grief! If you're Polish and a Detroiter, there are only certain bakeries you get them! Paczki Snobs 😁

I had King Cake once. Someone in my office was from NO and had it shipped. I thought it was just okay.

@Tinkrbl44

I COUNT THE DAYS until DST.    AZ has two time zones...since the Navajo Nation uses DST, and the rest of the State does NOT.

So, DST puts me on PDT....and since most of my TV feed comes from CA....I am back to "regular TV hours"....instead of having the late news at midnight.   di

@rockygems123 I have the Pecan Kringle on my counter right now.

My sister & I went to Wisconsin a few years ago & she introduced me to the Kringle.

I brought them home for the family.

I have found them at Aldi for $7.

Jungle Jim & Trader Joe charge $9.99.

If I want to order one they are $23.95+9.95 S&H.

I always make Hot Cross Buns and sometimes King cake and am not familiar with the rest of the things mentioned.  I'm ok with that!  Woman Wink

The donuts they sell here are called fastnachts. They are of Pa. Dutch/ German origin. I think they become available next week.

One of the members of our monthly discussion group bought paczki's made by Chicago Sweet Connection.  There were a variety of fillings including custard, lemon, and cherry.  I split a custard-filled with another member.  Very tasty with a cup of tea.

I browbeat my sister into sending me a cinnamon King Cake from Rouse's in Baton Rouge. So good!
