Re: Man it's windy today 40 mph

Its been so windy hear in North Texas that all the neighbor's leaves have blown up to my front door. Big pile and everytime we open the front door, they blow into the house. The yard guy just came and he used the blower machine to blow them out to the street probably and looking out the window I see the leaves blowing down the street from other yards. Our trees are small leaved and these are those huge oak leaves.

Detachment isn't the absence of love but the ability to take care of yourself in the midst of someone else's choices.

We're having 100mph winds in parts of Colorado. My area has 70mph gusts right now. My house is shaking from the wind gusts and I have tall trees all around my house that I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they don't come down! I'm scared to get in the shower b/c of the wind. I'm here alone with my dog so I'm staying where I can see things happening outside my windows. Taking a shower right now is out of the question.

I'm afraid to sit too close to my windows...something might fly through one and get me. Yikes!

Many flights are being delayed and cancelled in Denver b/c of this wind.

I was planning on going to the PO to deliver some stuff. But not today!

Re: Man it's windy today 40 mph

Utah got hammered with a huge snowstorm last night.  My power was out for a couple of hours.  I just came in from snowblowing a foot of snow.  Had a Dr's appt this afternoon but I can't get out.  I have a couple of small trees and bushes that are laying on the ground covered in snow.  This is the bigest snow storm we've had in a couple of years but since we're in a drought situation we needed it.  The skiers are thrilled and we'll have an influx for the holidays.

@SilleeMee  We had lightning..thunder...sleet...ice...rain and snow..

Woke us up at 3:30.  Our wind was 40mph.  Not as bad as yours.

No school for the kids today..too dangerous for the busses and a lot of the schools don't have electricity.  Ours hasn't flickered so far.

My biggest concern, besides trees coming down, is having stuff flying in the wind from neighbors' yards where they didn't secure their %$&* down! Woman Mad

@SilleeMee

It is crazy windy here north of you in western Denver suburbs.  We're up against the foothills so we tend to have higher mph than out east.

Good luck with the trees!  I worry about that too.  Ours are only 20 years old but can't believe how huge they are.  Missed the fall window of tree trimming, maybe will do it in the Spring if trees can handle that.

Everytime I open the back door to let the dog out I sweep leaves from the kitchen floor here in North Texas too @Growing Leaves are swirling all over including piling up at front door. Only open front for packages.  Not from my trees either.
