At first, I thought this was a picture of both of them, but this is the actual statue.

Tapas Sandilya, a 65-year-old retired government employee, spent 250,000 rupees (approximately $3,000) on a silicone statue resembling his late.

Sandilya’s wife Indrani passed away in May 2021 during India’s second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The wife wanted him to do this years ago in the event she passed before him.

Background looks as if he has her statue in a garage or basement.  I don't need a statue to remember my late loved ones. Everyone is different, though.

If these are statues, @San Antonio Gal  they are amazing, but creepy. If it comforts him that’s great, but can you imagine close family and friends having to deal with this.

Retired civil servant Tapas Sandilya, 65, commissioned a sculptor to create a silicone statue of his late partner Indrani, who died on May 4, 2021, aged 59.

Tapas Sandilya likes to comb her hair.

The statue of Indrani sits in her favorite spot, arms folded with a serene expression on her face. She is dressed in an Assamese silk sari that Indrani wore to her son's wedding reception.
