My little Minnie had used Angel's Eyes for years to keep her eyes and mouth from being to bad stained but I changed her dog food from SD to Halo Stew and it did cut down on the stains so I quit buying the AE but I heard where some ppl are using Purity Made Simple on the their dog and it cleans it. So I want to know if any of you have tried it and does it really take all the stain out? Minnie's problem now is her mouth is really stained i guess I may have to go back to the AE unless the purity does a good job. Just want to know if any of you have use Purity?

I have a white poodle and a few years ago i had this problem, her eyes started tearing really badly. I contemplated on giving her Angel Eyes but then found out it contains antibiotics. I don't want to give her antibiotics unless she really needs it! So I started researching and found out she is severely allergic to the wall plug-ins I was using. I stopped the plug-ins and she improved tremendously. Please see if your dog can be allergic to something (chemicals, certain food, etc), maybe you won't have to give her anything then! Good luck!

SD contains corn, so it looks like she is allergic to corn. You can try going grain-free, in addition also pay close attention to the treats you give her. Grain free treats might alleviate the allergies.

I notice my 14 yr.old Miniature poodle's tear stains improve after he has dentistry. Afterall,it is caused by bacteria.

They say it is the high amount protein in the food you give your Maltese, but I don't know.

I would NEVER wash my dogs eyes with purity. NEVER!

I keep my dogs eyes clear by wiping them with Sterile water on a gauze pad ,recommended by my vet.

Make sure no hair is in his eyes and cut off any hairs near them. That helps tremendously.

Malties are known for this problem. Good luck.

Remember just keep his eyes clean and free from hair Smile

My little apso used to have chronic dry eye - I used to have to use prescription drops at the vets. She used to like it when I would put hemp seed on your doggie food and she'd gobble it down, but then turned fussy doggie and I had to go the route of doggie restatis drops. I tried to find a holistic route - Chantel hated fish oil - that was the other alternative. I tried regular rewetting eye drops Silmisan in the pink bottle - we would use that along with her prescription drops.

She wasn't able to make enough moisture in her eyes. If you don't do anything they could end up with losing their eye sight. Or is could be her eyelashes are growing into her eye...

I also changed my dogs food and shampoo because her skin was pinkish - so I switched her to a grain free diet and looked for a shampoo with the least ingredients in it - Doggie Shampoo made by Vermont Shampoo = no menthol...

Hope you are able to find a remedy for your doggie. My sweet little Chantel went to the Rainbow Bridge January 18, 2014 - I was blessed to care for her for over 16.5 years - she would have been 17 6/6/2014...

Blessings to you, good luck again Smiley Happy
