@moonandthestars wrote:@catmama I haven't noticed that in particular, but I have noticed behavior I think is similar. My observation is that when driving men (the men I know) brake only at the last minute. For example, if the car is coming up to a red light or stop sign, most women I know will slow down somewhat in advance and then brake to a more gentle stop. The men that I know do not slow down in advance, even tho they can clearly see what's ahead of them, and they do a more abrupt stop the last second. Just weird to me that so many men I know drive the same way - including my nephew! It is similar, don't you think?
@moonandthestars you are so right. Sometimes I'm pressing the imaginary brake too.

It's like being in back of someone at the fast food place and they've been looking at the menu, now it's their turn and they don't know what they want yet.

I now take my husband along to the grocery store so he can reach what I want on the top shelves. I'm short and do not have good shoulder range of motion. I have to tug on him every so often to move out of the way.

Oh, and then there's the roving packs of tourists deciding on what to buy for dinner (I live in Florida). This involves the hosting couple and at least two to three visiting couples, shopping en masse, usually at the meat counter, deciding on which steaks and how many to buy. Then moving as a pack to the snacks and beverages. Oy.

I don't know that it's a male female issue. Some folks just don't think ahead when in lines, both male and female.
I will say that when DH and I shop together, I am a bit more spatially aware than he is. I notice that we might be in someone's way and like @tansy I gently maneuver us out of the way. DH is usually a little surprised but he goes with it. He's not blocking anything on purpose, he's just focused on executing the plan! lol

Two things I make sure I have when I get to Costco is my membership card and my bank card......The last thing I want to do is delay others while I'm digging around in my purse looking for a card.....

@Meowingkitty my husband was famous for doing this. I always reminded him to get out his Card long before we got to the entrance, and for some reason it still didn't work.
And why do men always have a lot of stuff in their wallets? What's up with that? lol
I can't help it, but this reminds me of the 'Seinfeld' episode when George had his wallet so stuffed with stuff that it threw his back out! ![]()

I've never been to a Costco, as we don't have one, but I used to belong to Sam's Club and I think that's about the same, isn't it? I never noticed that men did this more than women. Some people are just more prepared than others - I don't think it has anything to do with gender. I try to be courteous to others and be as prepared as possible.
