Gad, this stuff cracks me up!! Bachelor, Bachelorette, DWTS, etc...You DO realize all these 'story lines' are acting? It's a HUGE moneymaker for these networks. Wow...thought my QGirls were smarter than to believe all the 'soap opera' story lines. SMH

I kind of have to agree with this. I watched the clip from the Wendy Williams show that had both Max and Meryl as guests after they won the DWTS competition. If there was a torrid live affair going on, you wouldn't know it from his (Max's) body language. He barely looked at Meryl the entire time as they answered questions from Wendy about their "emotional connection" and seeming romance.

I really do think it's a manufactured contrivance; he even stated in another interview that it was necessary for the dance partners to act as if there was something between them, even if there wasn't. People get all giddy thinking they are witnessing they "bad boy" (a characterization Max himslef has encouraged) get "tamed" by a waif of a young woman, which in turn translates into huge ratings. There is a reason why Barbara Cartland and other authors of those types of novels were so popular. DWTS is just becoming another "torrid romance novel" in a different medium.

Re: Maks and Meryl: A Love Match

Ice dancing involves a lot of acting. Many of Charlie and Meryl's fans were convinced they were a couple off ice. The moment they hit the ice, if the choreography called for it, Meryl looked at Charlie the same way she looked at Maks. The difference was, she didn't have DWTS and ABC telling her, make the public believe you have our bad boy eating out of your hand.

Did you watch the whole interview? At one point he was trying to hold hands with her and she looked a bit uncomfortable because at that point, she wasn't ready to acknowledge that they are in a relationship. He won't admit to anything until he gets the go ahead from her.

He has said he's at the point in his life where he wants a family, marriage and children. If he truly wants that, then Meryl should be his choice. If he's not done with the se*xy models and actresses, then he should stay far away from Meryl because I would hate to see him break her heart. JLo would then be his best bet for a temporary torrid affair. So he has to separate the "real" from the fantasy . . . and some men (and women) can never achieve that, especially in that world.

Agreed. I have a feeling Meryl may be hesitant for them to come out as a couple because she wants to make sure Maks is willing to change his ways for her. And if he isn't, hopefully she'll find out soon so she can move on without him.

When they both get back to the states, they're not going to be able to hide their relationship much longer; the paparazzi are going to be all over Maks to find out who he's dating.

Of course, if Maks does something to muck things up with Meryl and she dumps him, it doesn't mean they haven't been a couple now and during the course of the show. I think they've been a couple since week three, if not sooner.

What shocks me....I'm surprised the Conservative Right hasn't shut these shows down...especially since they're on prime time. With the Bachelorette, you know all those guys are just big ole Nelly Girls wanting to sleep w/ he other 'bachelors'...but give the illusion they're just a pack of digs sniffing around this girl...hookin up...if they ARE straight, who wants to be a "sloppy second"...that just makes her a high class h--ker. Talk about pimpin' out. Again...surprised the Right hasn't banned it for 'moral" aspect....but then again, they're they worst ones with stuff like this! HA.

???? What does political affiliation have to do with reality tv? Any way, I suspect the Max and Meryl relationship is only for tv.

Ya think?? I agree, but I could be wrong about them, but people have kind of planned out their whole life for them....call me skeptical , but I think it is all for ratings....but time will tell, if they get married and have a family and live happy ever after, good for them!! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

oh and I think the whole bad boy image is for ratings too, yes he gets an attitude sometime, but I have often seen a sweet and kind side to him, long before Meryl.

Politics, and all that implies, rules the World. Everything you buy, eat, drink, smell, taste, read, drive, walk on, ride on....whew....everything is ruled by politics...even our TV viewing....left/right, Liberal/Conservative...doesn't matter what side of the fence you're on. Can't escape it...it's just what Humans do. It's just a slow 'chip away' of our being.
