Mailed my only Christmas package today

I had it ready, drove by the post office (which is always very busy, large post office) and saw only one car there.  Drove home, got my package and went back up there.

Anyway, $25.80 to mail one not too heavy box from Atlanta to Utah, by priority mail.  Several items in the box, but it was not all that heavy.

I'm not one to complain about shipping charges whether it be from (or to) QVC or any other retailer because look at what I just spent on one box.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Shipping can be very expensive.  Before Covid I had my Etsy shop.  It would cost me over $21.00 to ship a 5lb. 24' x 18" x 4" box from PA to Ca.

I'm donating stuff I might have put on e-bay 5 years ago because I know they are wanted and they are expensive.  Now? Not worth the hassle.

Re: Mailed my only Christmas package today

SPeaking of E-bay, where the buyer pays the shipping in most cases, you'd be shocked at the shipping charges on items...

You don't need an account to just look....enter some product you like and when the listings come up, look at the shipping charges.

And where it says "Free Shipping" the item definitely includes shipping in the price.

And I must say, it makes 5.50 an item on QVC look like TINY potatoes....

Check it out!

Not defending QVC, just pointing out a factoid of life.

@gidgetgh  It sounds like a flat rate box would have been a better choice!  I wish they still had parcel post rates. Slower shipping but cheaper.
