Some carriers must be dumping the post cards.  We got a post card some time in the last couple of weeks and then, just a couple of days ago, got the plastic bag.

A plastic grocery bag was left in my mailbox on Thursday. If they had given a little more advance notice, I'd have purchased more items.  As it was, I just gave some canned foods out of the pantry.

Oh my goodness @AuntG thank you so much for this as I was so confused as to why a plastic bag was shoved into my mailbox (please know it was raining that day and I had a small package delivered so I thought maybe they were trying to protect it from the elements as the bag was from a grocery chain that is not located in this area).

Next year I will try again to donate to this more than worthy cause as I know first hand how many formerly stable lives have been changed in this new economy.

I had a plastic grocery bag in my mailbox earlier this week.  I had to mail a package yesterday and brought the donation along.

I got the post card on Monday and the blue plastic bag on Wednesday.

I think this is a good time of the year when the food banks are low with the basics and school kids will soon be home for the summer.

My USPS carrier was about four hours behind schedule.  I hope this means there was a generous response today.

No postcard but did get a bag in my box and, thanks to an earlier posting here, I knew what it was for.  Cleaned out my pantry and I hope whoever gets it enjoys.

Just remember it falls usually on the 2nd Saturday of May. We got in last night from travel and I quickly put together a shopping bag's worth of non perishable items.

I received two paper bags this week to fill.  My husband and I went through our pantry and found a lot of duplicates of canned goods and seasoning packets, etc.  My husband was a supervisor at a major supermarket before retiring and brought home things when he would see them go on sale.  Too much for us to use - it's only the two of us now.  Glad to see all the food go to help someone less fortunate.

I had no idea it was today.

I received no notification.  Our town has a huge electronic sign.  They should have put a notice up there and they probably would have gotten a huge response.
