Re: Magazines: Tearing out ads before reading

I could not be bothered to rip out ads. If they are loose, I toss them.

I "debone" my magazines before I read them too. Some have way too many attached inserts. In the stapled magazines like AARP and New York Magazine, the inserts are easy to remove. In the big magazines like Vanity Fair, I just remove them as I go along.

Has anyone noticed how cheap magazine subscriptions have become? I paid $5 a year for Vanity Fair and Real Simple, and a few of them were free. I guess they hope you'll renew your subscription after your year is up and that's how they'll make their money?

Sunny--my DH has subscribed to Time Out NY for years. Now they'll be giving it out for free in the city--it's a sign of the times!

Hardly ever buy magazines today. But yes, years ago I did tear out those inserts - especially the perfumed ones.{#emotions_dlg.blink}

I did not like the perfumed inserts.
