So my mother wanted my girls to have these dolls and they had no interest. I have 50+ 10" new in box that I would love to get rid of. They are made in USA. There does not seem to be any interest on EBay. I might be able to find a consignment store? Donation? They cannot be played with like a Barbie. Any ideas?

They aren't toys and to be honest, I don't think any charity or consignment shop wants them. I would try to find an older woman who is already a Madame Alexander doll collector and give the dolls to her. A collector really is the only person who would not only want them but be thrilled to receive them.

Madame Alexander Doll Values

I don't think I'd give them away, there must be someone out there that would give you something for them.

Interesting to see as I had a few of these dolls and many outfits.

I have a bunch of Madame Alexander dolls that belonged to my dear mother. I have the complete 'Little Women' collection, including Marme and Laurie. I also have the original boxes as well as the receipts showing how much she paid for each one. They are cute but all have the same faces with different outfits. I have always loved 'Little Women' and would never think of selling these dolls as they were my moms and she loved them so much. I was recently in a store that sells Madame Alexanders and was told that mine are not worth much. I also have a few other Madame dolls and all of mine were made in the USA prior to her death. I love dolls. I think with the economy being what it is, people do not have discretionary money to spend on collectibles. Those who are collectors...enjoy! docsgirl

Just from experience....I know that the consignment stores in my area don't want dolls. My mom also collected dolls 25+ years ago, and I also purchased a few....when she passed away, the dolls were divided between the siblings, I kept the ones that I really liked and have sold via ebay a few others. A couple that do not fit in a step back cupboard in my living room I just boxed up and put away. I wish the craze would come back, I'd love to sell a few more.

I see bids on some for over $40.00 on ebay.

I am not a doll expert, but I'd bet that some of the older, vintage Madama Alexander dolls and sets (like the "Little Women" doll set one poster mentioned) have much more value than the later Madame Alexander issues. I've seen these dolls sold at low prices and in great quantity in discount stores like Tuesday Morning in recent years. The old dolls used to be something special, but less so in recent years, I'm guessing.

I am a Grandmother and I collect Dolls! I would love to obtain some more Madam Alexander dolls to add to my wall unit doll collection. I wasn't able to collect (due to limited finances) the "older" dolls in this collection, ands would love to have them. I lead a Senior group of Ladies who meet here weekly....they would love seeing them and reminiscing. Please let me know how to contact you.

The older MA dolls, made in USA while Mme Alexander was alive, sell better.
