Do there strictly adhere to this? I have something I have decided to return and it has been about 35 days. Thanks

Re: Macys 39 day return policy

We want you to love your purchase, but if you are not completely satisfied, we gladly accept most returns by mail or in-store within 30 days of purchase.  This is their policy.

It appears that you are outside the window to return. You can try calling customer service.

Yep. 30 day return policy. Not 39.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

If you are a Macy's Platinum card holder, they often bend the rules. I sent something back that broke, two months later but I called ahead to Customer Service. They put a notation on my account and accepted the return @gellen .

Re: Macys 39 day return policy

Try taking it into a store and when they say no ask to speak to a manager.  A few years go when they made it so that you couldn't return a last act item I was in line when a lady in front of me got upset and asked to speak to a manager, the manager allowed the return.  Especially if its not a lot of money they should say okay just to not have to deal with you lol.

If you have the receipt or do e-receipts I'd make the return asap and in person. They'll probably take the return as a courtesy. They have done this for me. I do e-receipts and leave the tags on if I'm not sure I'll keep something. BTW...I love e-receipts. No more fumbling through paper receipts. So convenient!

I've exceeded the 30 day window on several occasions & C.S. in the store has always accepted my return.

@gellen You may want to run to the store if you haven't!  I returned something on the 30th day, and the guy was telling me it was late.  I had to ask him to count again, and he did, and then checked with someone, and they double checked, and eventually refunded me.  It was a piece of jewelry I ordered online.

Re: Macys 39 day return policy

I think they are strict. Maybe it depends on the store. I was a couple days after and they refused to credit my account. I asked to speak to a Manager and she eventually just gave me a store credit. Btw- my item was returned w/ tags attached and perfect selling condition.
