They are closing the Macys right down the street from me. The whole shopping mall is almost empty except for Sears. It was such a good mall back in the day and it is in the perfect busy spot in an excellent neighborhood. I can't understand what happened.

This was the third bankruptcy filing for Loehmann's. Three strikes and they are officially out. Bad business model. Couldn't compete with Ross and TJX companies as well as stores like Macy's, Target, JCPenney's etc. who crushed Loehmann's by offering deep discounts that matched any that Loehmann's offered.

Perhaps it has, I guess just not for the list of companies under discussion or certainly their workers... I haven't shopped at Loehmann's in several years. Though they had some really good merchandise, I never found their 'discounts' to be all that deep compared to other options. Still, hate to see them go under and their employees out of work.
