Mac n Cheese for breakfast ?

Just wondering who thinks this is a healthy breakfast for a child under 8 yrs old or any child.  I understand if it's the only thing available because of a unfortunate situation a family is in leaving them no choice. Not trying to be judgemental and if it's the only thing available in a situation I understand because the child has to eat but if it's just because a parent or care giver doesn't want to take the time to fix a healthy breakfast I think it's not a good thing.

What do you think?

I never judge parents and what they feed their child. Some kids are picky eaters and parents do their best. Most breakfasts I fixed were picked at. And it is rare to find a healthy breakfast except maybe oatmeal. And my kids gagged on it. Eggs are condemned for high cholesterol and toast is a carbohydrate with no protein. At least macaroni and cheese has some energy (calories) and a little protein.

It's not healthy at any time of day, but some kids are such picky eaters that it's difficult to get anything in them.  I'd rather have them eat that than go to school hungry.

My friend's son would only eat ramen noodles, so that's what he had.  He grew out of it.

Not ideal but probably better than cereal loaded with sugar.

At one point when I was a child I hated all breakfast food. My mom was so frustrated she finally let me have chicken noodle soup. I was a bit of a picky eater, but eventually I moved on to toast dipped in V-8 juice. LOL It's funny, but I'm still not crazy about breakfast, but I'll eat a banana or some yogurt.

Oh my, could I tell some sad breakfast tales. Maybe I will.

I had a wonderful gem of a Mother and she took great care of me in so many ways...I adored her and she me! But I could be a real brat when it came to breakfast. I didn't want it and I wasn't gonna eat it. Yep, BRAT!!! So back in the late fifties and early sixties my morning meal consisted mostly of either Hostess cupcakes, Twinkies, or a delicious bag of Fritos....all usually washed down with an iced cold Dr. Pepper. 😲😲😲😲😲

Yep, I made it through and lived to tell about it. My poor mother just wanted to get something in my tummy before she dropped me at school. But OMG, the horror of it all! FWIW, I haven't had a Hostess cupcake, Twinkie, or Dr. Pepper in well over fifty years. But boy do I still love a good Frito! 😋

Lots of salt and fat, no fiber, but at least some protein.

Could be much worse.  Cold cereal loaded with sugar?  Pastry?  Sugar filled breakfast bar?

I don't think there is anything wrong with Mac and Cheese for breakfast..You are talking about an 8 year old child.  There is no designated breakfast food. Some people have sandwiches, cold pizza etc. If it has some nourishment that's what is important for a child.
