MI School Shooter's Parents Get 10-15 yrs.

Ethan Crumbley's parents were sentenced to 10-15 years. Story on TMZ.

"Ethan's parents are going to prison just like their son -- 'cause a judge just sentenced them to more than a decade behind bars, this after their manslaughter convictions.

James and Jennifer Conley learned their fates Tuesday in a Michigan court, where a judge handed down 10-to-15-year prison sentences to each of them. That was the maximum sentence they were facing ... and Hizzoner threw the book at them. They're getting 858 days credited for time served.

Remember ... the convicted mass shooter's mom and dad were both criminally charged with involuntary manslaughter, after their son shot and killed 4 people at his high school in 2021.

Their guilty verdicts were historic ... marking the first time parents had been found criminally liable for their children's behavior. Prosecutors argued that both James and Jennifer could've prevented Ethan from going on a shooting spree ... as there were clear warning signs.

Jennifer had testified during her trial that James was responsible for hiding the gun that Ethan ended up using ... but in the end, a jury found each of them equally responsible for the deaths.

Prosecutors had asked a judge to impose the stiff sentences -- noting they hadn't shown any remorse over their actions ... or lack thereof to help prevent the awful tragedy.

It's about time negligent parents are held accountable too.

Sometimes parents do try and help their loved one/kid and it doesn't work. Sadly, too many ignore the signs and cries for help.

I would have thrown the book at all three of them. The time they got is not enough.

I hope this verdict and responsibility is passed in all states. Children need to be protected from weapons by parents who are careless.

Pay attention to your kids and look out for warning signs and for God's sake if you have weapons in the house, lock them away!!!

If the school had  made sure this shooter was taken home that day by his parents , likely the shooting would not have occured.  The school called the parents in to have a conference and asked the parents to take him home that day but they refused. The school  backed down and  the shhoter tayed at school.  Hope the school is sued by parents of the victims. Whoever at the school  who  made that decision was dead wrong.

Schools need to do more - why not metal detectors and why not Mental Health professionals in schools  along with Security officers .

Whould hope if

I am sure the school will be sued.  They were totally negligent in this situation.

A certain political party keeps directing funds away from public schools to fund their schools, plus their misdirection and flood-the-zone strategies around LGBTQ+ and library folks. Did you see the actual sentencing? CNN broadcasted it live. The mother was defiant to the end, blaming the father. He wasn't much better.

Oh, look. Tennessee teachers can now conceal carry. Gee that will help  /s

The right to bear arms was never intended to mean that anyone/everyone could have a weapon.  When that amendment was drafted it was intended to allow people to protect themselves from foes, hunt to feed their families, etc.  No one needs an assault weapon!!!!

Parents should be held accountable.   They purchased the weapon and ammunition.   They allowed their child access. I thought the sentences should have been longer.

I wish that this law could be retroactive and the Columbine shooters parents could be jailed.  It should have started with them.
