You can only change it for your thread title.

You can't change it for that subject line on everybody's replies.

Re: MEDALS OF FREEDOM AWARDS

[ Edited ]

The Vietnam Memorial is awesome.  I visit due to an early friend who died in that war when he was only 18.  Last time I went and left a message, there was another from his sister, whom I knew as a kid.

The designer of that beautiful gathering place for the Vietnam war bereaved, to mourn their loved ones, fully deserves her medal.

Tom Hanks and not Gary Sinise????

@Cakers3- don't know what Hanks did but Sinise quietly has done quite a lot of work in Afghanistan and for veterans groups.  Quite admirable and I assume he got the medal re his altruism not entertainment

@Stray  Hi Stray:  Sinise has long been involved with vets going back to the early'80's.

The Forrest Gump movie brought Hanks into good works for vets.

I don't begrudge Hanks the award, he's a good person. But Sinise outshines when it comes to all the work for vets.  And yes, his foundation (I'm not sure if I should link) outlines his contributions.

I feel if Hanks was receiving one Sinise surely should have been included.

Sinise did received the Presidents Civilian Medal, the second highest honor.

If you ever met him you would be so warmed by his genuine spirit. A truly honorable person.
