I avoid making contact with those kiosk sellers.

I do that also. Plus, I either turn my head, and partially my body away and walk quickly passed! If they begin their spiel with me I just say a hearty, " No thank you!" And keep going! These people should be reported as I believe they are not supposed to sell outside of a certain radius of their kiosk. I had a dear friend who had severe allergies to anything sprayed or scented! They would send her into an acute asthma attack!

An upscale mall not far from here has those walks.  People come in a side door, usually elders, and take circular walks together.  They have a security guard on duty who lets them in an hour before the mall opens.

@Noel7  I think you are getting off subject here....the OP was not mall walking. She was shopping. I am sure that the malls can be useful for this senior walking before the mall opens, but  These people are not shopping.

As you can see, I wasn't speaking to the OP in that post, it was clearly marked as a response to @catwhisperer who was speaking of mall walks.

Many people go to malls to walk, for exercise. I do. I feel safer walking around the malls than on public streets.

Copy for @SeaMaiden

As you can see, Sea Maiden, I was not the person who brought up mall walks, but I did respond to the issue.

As for your comment about it being off topic, sorry, I cannot agree and see no reason for a reprimand.

Years ago a guy grabbed my hand to look at my nails. I think I hit him on the chin or neck pulling my hand away. He wanted to buff my nails. I was like no way are you going to do anything with that thing! Yuck after all the other (unwashed?) hands he's done? Bleck. I was a kid and I knew better!

@Noel7  Did not mean it to come across as a reprimand. If that was how you saw it  I apologize.

Hi @Lucky Charm I haven't seen you in awhile Smiley Happy

I hate it when strangers grab me.  I was at Target last year and saw a necklace I thought my daughter might like, so I held it up to the light.  An elderly woman next to me reached up and grabbed my hand saying she wanted to see it.

I thought I was going to faint.  I had just broken my finger and had a splint on it, which is what she grabbed and twisted.  I said something like, What are you doing, can you not see you grabbed an injury?  Did she apologize?  No, she got all huffy and said, I just wanted to see that necklace.

Man, if she had been younger, I think I would have yelled at her not to touch me.

I chuckled when I read these stories.  You have not seen anything until you have been to the open air market in Istanbul, Turkey. Called the Grand Bazaar.  Gird your loins.

Yes, I have shopped there. Quite the experience.

Re: MALL rant... need to vent

The malls add more of these kiosks around the holidays. I usually try to walk on the upper level if I'm at a two level mall. I don't see as many vendors on the upper level, unless I'm at the Mall of America.
