Is this a test of sort of our defense - meaning I know we have had Russian bombers flying up and down the coast of Alaska.

The power outage was at the Los Angles International Airport @Puzzle Piece

CBS Local is reporting outages that happened in 2011 in LAX.
If you believe Inverse News, TRUNEWS, RT and some others then yes it happened. I have never heard of these news sources. Until one credible news source such as CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, FoxNews, Good Morning America, Today Show; CBS News, ABC News or other local affiliates report it, I will say it likely didn't happen.

Hi @noodleann! And it looks as if this summer could be hot. I was on Weather.com this morning and the temperature outlook is hot for most parts of the country.
Nobody ever really knows, but California, enjoy your rain while you can. So far, it looks like El Nino will be taking hold in the fall. Good for the East, but it would be wonderful if California gets decent snow pack this year to give things a chance to grow.

The Official LAX Twitter page makes no mention of such a problem for today, yesterday and the day before. Faux News seeping through?

I already posted that it was reported on SF local news CBS and San Jose local news.
Believe it or not, no matter.

I can't find one story about LA from those sources either @Noel7.

None of these reputable sources say a thing about LA, but they do mention San Francisco.

Oh, I should add, one of the posters on this line lives in NY and said she was very aware the subway had a power out yesterday.
The real issue is that our infrastructure is breaking down.

I live in NYC. I know what goes on here as I'm a severe news junkie. Yes, we did have a subway outage and my daughter was stuck in it.
Things did happen. Doesn't appear anything happened in LOS ANGELES though.
