95 thousand without power in SF.

Local San Jose tv news reporting part of New York went down about the same time.

Other outlets reporting similar problen in LA.

It's odd there has been little talk about the cause. In SF, we are being told there was a small fire in a substation in this city, but 80thousand are still without power.

Oddly, it's not just one are, it's sprinkled all over the city.

IN NYC this morning it was the subway system that the power was knocked out. I think it is mostly fixed now...I wouldn't want to be stuck on a subway for hours....been there done that years ago when a power grid went out all over the East Coast all the way up to Canada I think.

SFPD says they are getting calls from many concerned about three major cities going down partly at the same time. They are implying that happens.

We are being told the SF outage is due to equipment failure.

I remember some years ago there was a lot of talk about the possibility of the grid going down.

Does anyone know how much area the grid covers? We really need to update our infrastructure.

LA? not to my knowledge. ok here in SFValley anyway. it seems to be an SF problem. i don't know where the grid outage rumor came from but see no reporting of it hereabouts.
