Re: Loving Paula Deen on Evine

Evine had a coconut cakeof hers  that looked good although I don't buy that sort of thing from TV.  Her food items always look good, but when her restaurants were at some of the casinos, I ate at one and the dishes using her recipes were rather tasteless.  They all looked good, and they provided the recipes so you could take them home, but they just tasted too bland for me.  I've never purchased any of her other items either.

she is just crude to the bone.

Can't stand her. She used to "feed" David all the time on Q, now she does it at Evine with hosts and camera people. She licks her fingers, sticks them back into the food and then shoves it into people's mouths. She is not genteel in any way and somehow I guess they figured pairing her up with that airhead Alison was going to attract viewers. They both snort, say stupid things, just basically turn you off to food altogether.

And that was only watching maybe 5 minutes when I had to turn it off. And I lived in the south when my husband was first in the military and I don't recall anyone saying Y'all every 2 minutes. Her sons don't talk that way and they were raised in the south by her so why does she do it and they don't?

I'm done with P.C. Just say what you mean and mean what you say. It's easier.

I didn't watch her on Evine though I have seen her house and she has impeccable taste. Her house is really lovely. I would be interested in knowing who her decorator is.

She announced Sunday night on the air that her house is now on the market, her real estate agent called in while she was on the air.

Re: Loving Paula Deen on Evine

I like the original shows, filmed upstate New York (her manager's house?).

She was always tripping over a dog.

Calm, quiet, gray haired (no blue wigs), no pearly white choppers, never a YEE AWL, no finger licking.

That's when I liked her.

Re: Loving Paula Deen on Evine

I saw her on EVINE this time around and thought she didn't look so good... too much weight loss perhaps. I LOVE her cookbooks and use them quite often for family events.

The one think I noticed was she wasn't... "on". The host did all the talking while PD just stood there or made sounds of agreement. She wasn't able to really answer questions well... I don't know if it was the delay or she didn't hear the person in her ear or what but something seemed REALLY off with her.

Agree about her house being gorgous. I looked at her furniture line a year ago and it's beautiful and very well made. Love the fabrics too.

Oh really? I wonder where she is moving. I really love her house. It is just beautiful. I really love the kitchen too but the whole house is gorgeous. She really decorates beautifully or she hired someone to decorate beautifully, either way I loved it. I am certain she worked with someone and I would love to know who that was.  Wish she lived around here, her house is too far away from me. Lol! Thanks for letting me know @Shelbelle, I will see if I can look up the listing.

Re: Loving Paula Deen on Evine

Paula lives less than a mile from me on a small island.

Her beautiful waterfront home is set pretty close to the main road of the island and doesn't offer much 'seclusion'. 'Looky-loos' are always driving by. She's looking for more seclusion.

I've known and worked with Paula for many years, as she always catered our corporate monthly meetings. She is not the persona you see on tv, that's the persona that Food Network created and wanted her to present. It stuck and made her a muti-millionaire.

She and her sons do many, many benefits here for different groups, especially charities, i.e., the homeless, Down syndrome, kids at risk, our LGBT community, I could go on & on.

And her sons do indeed say ya'll, maybe not when they're on tv, but IRL they do.

@60sgirl  Yes she was obnoxious as was the Alison host she worked with. Alison says the most off the wall stupid things. Did not help MS. Deen in anyway to look gracious or genteel. Both of them were one hot mess.
