I'm not watching and so don't know this host. I'm sure she's lovely and capable if so many seem to think she is. As for her remarks, my sense is she's playing to the balcony. It's never bothered me when hosts pull the ridiculous ploy of having someone 'order' while on-air. It's a gimmick. Still, it seems to bother others and this woman clearly picked up on that fact.

Her having so commented sort of puts me in the mind of Lisa Mason announcing on-air that she would never thrown a Dooney bag, after Lisa R. took a certain amount of heat for tossing bags to someone on the sidelines when colors sold out. Again, my response was 'who cares' whether they do or they don't.
