I like what I buy at Costco and even though I seldom buy anything much bad enough to return (flowers, foods, cleaning products rarely are bad) I appreciate that their return policy is superb.
I don't really expect quite the same in most places - I say that because Costco essentially make its profit from membership fees. Very, little comes from what they sell. I knew that used to be true and wondered if it changed. Did not.
In 2018 - Costco had income of $2.38 billion - $2.53 of that came from our membership fees. Not much at all from what we buy.

They are great, aren't they?

I never feel like I'm paying a membership fee since I save much more than that from their great coupons they mail me monthly. Recently, I received a check for $58. from using my Visa/Costco credit card.
Costco's products are larger in size, better quality and lower in price than sold in the supermarket. I do a lot of shopping on-line and I've used their InstaCart delivery ---- so convenient.

@NicksmomESQ So what is the return policy at Costco for something like that? A year and a half is a long time to return something like that. Wonder when they will say no? Two years....five years...?
I doubt that the product itself has a year warranty. I probably would have never brought it back....good for you you took the chance.

Costco will even take back DEAD Christmas trees.
Yup, actually happened, two years ago, as a matter of fact.
On January 4, 2017 a woman returned her DEAD Christmas tree to Costco, where they gave her her money back.
True story.

I nevertake food but bought Members Mark 1/4 hot dogs at Sam's because they didn't have our regular brand, Hebrew National.
OMG they were terrible & too salty to our liking. My friend told me to take them back -- I thought no way.
Today, I took them back and they looked it up -- gave me refund. I was surprised as it was opened & food product!
I have Cuisinart coffee maker bought about 9 months ago from Kohl's. Was going to toss in trash this same friend told me to take back. Much to my surprise -- they looked it up & gave me a new one!
I like stores with good CS!

@SeaMaiden My daughter worked at Costco in the customer service department for a few years. I was amazed at some of the things she would tell me - people returning things after having them for a few years - yes, years and a refund was issued. Didn't matter how long ago it was purchased. People would buy a big screen tv right before the super bowl and return it after the game.
