Re: Louie Anderson has passed

Anderson's longtime publicist Glenn Schwartz confirmed the news of his death to PEOPLE Friday.

The actor died in a Las Vegas hospital, where he was undergoing treatments after he was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell Lymphoma, the most common type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

"He is survived by his two sisters, Lisa and Shanna Anderson.

Cause of death was complications from cancer," Schwartz told PEOPLE.

LAST WEEK,  Anderson's rep said he was "resting comfortably" while undergoing treatments. "Iconic comedian Louie Anderson is currently in a Las Vegas hospital being treated for diffuse large B cell lymphoma, a form of cancer," Schwartz told Rolling Stone in an article published Jan. 18.

Re: Louie Anderson has passed

So bummed!  He seemed like such a sweet man and, of course, funny.   I like those qualities in a person.  Smiley Happy

I watch a silly little game show called 'Funny You Should Ask' and he has been one of the 6 comedians on the panel for most of the episodes.  He always seems well-loved.

Smiley Sad   RIP, sweet man.  Heart broken.

Re: Louie Anderson has passed

Such sad news. As others have said, he always seemed to have such a sweet and kind nature.

I just loved his Saturday morning cartoon show, Life With Louie.

He was hilarious as Christine Baskets, the mother, in the TV show Baskets.

His books were both funny and very touching.

I remember feeling so sorry for him when he was blackmailed.

He is one celebrity that I will truly  miss.
