This is what the Sand Cat looks as a kitten.

The grow in to their ears when they get older. The are all over the Middle East. They are not related to another wild breed of cats....simply called desert cats. Sand Cats can also be found in Asia and Africa. They will bite and scratch, but don't cause too much damage, as they are small. But rabies, etc. It is best to keep away from them. They are mostly found in the Negev Dessert. They like to hide in the caves there.

When DH said he wanted one, I immediately said, "Can you IMAGINE what reaction they'd have to a normal litter box, after having acres of sand???" LOL
That was pretty much my reaction to his wish for a Canadian Lynx or Bobcat (legal in MI at the time) - what size litterbox would they need?
