QVC started it's radical change when Shawn arrived on the scene. Now, I'm not blaming Shawn for the change, but she has certainly paved the way for cutesy talk, bouncing all over the place and the new uninformed, screeching hosts.

By chance, I saw Jane and Antonella at some point while flipping thru channels.  Antonella has gone blonde and Jane appears to be lightening up her hair as well.  They might be feeling the pressure. of this new QVC.

I like Jill.  She was kind of like Joe Friday on Dragnet -  " the facts, just the facts ."

I have never tuned into watch a QVC show because of the host.   I almost always shop online.  However, even when there is a show with a product I'm interested in, I will NOT watch if the host is one I cannot stand and there are one or two.

I watched a pro this morning presenting with Linea: Mary Beth Rowe. Always polished, well prepared, and unassuming. She did not put lip gloss on over and over during her presentation, she did not take her shoes off and jump on the couch, she did not feel the need to change into every single piece of clothing presented, and she did not scream out  in a voice that would wake the dead! Please give “Mary-Beth-Rowe” classes to the new crop of hosts.

I hate to tell you this but Mary Beth has trained some if not all of the new people.

Either they are not listening or she is not passing on her expertise.

@alarmclock.  On the other hand, I find Mary Beth dull as dishwater to watch.  There must be a happy medium somewhere.

@shaggygirl.  Jill is the kind of person so loyal, she'd go down with the ship.  Whatever happened to cause her to leave, must have really been serious.  They probably did her a favor; she can and probably will do better.

I did not read all the replies but I know with DH he finally retired. He said he dreaded getting up going to work and he said he was just doing the motions getting threw the day. I had no idea but he came home grouchy last few years. I understand. We planned retirement so no problem. I understand after awhile when you get a certain age or point & not into your job time to go. Big difference with DH much happier, he said he should have done it a few years ago. I think we may see this happening with other hosts on the show too. Jill enjoy your life and understand you did a wonderful job we all will miss you. Life is short enjoy it.

I agree that I don't care what size the host wears and to hear it over and over. But my main complaint is that we should all be treated with respect, not like a bunch of idiots that will buy anything from anyone. I have only been a QVC customer for 2 years and I reallly notice the difference. Things will change when we quit buying. I have mostly gone to Amazon now. Two day delivery. None of those phone calls of order delayed on almost every order so that an order takes 2-3 weeks most of the time.

There is a time we get fed up with our work if you do do it enough, so much you can say let her go & undersand, think many  will follow.  I can see many hosts will follow too. Just understand

I will miss Jill and wish her well.   She gave detailed presentations without all the hype. I think she didn't like the direction QVC is taking, especially with her home show being  moved to Q2 and that may have prompted her to retire - just my opinion.  I agree about Antonella and Jane feeling the pressure, and probably other older/long time hosts feel the same. The other day Marybeth said her next show would be at 6 AM - that was very surprisng.    They are really shaking things up, but It doesn't mean it is for the better.

There is but it's not at QVC.

I don't believe for a second that Mary Beth actually "trains" new hosts. It's an urban myth and legend. Sure, she may hold a few sessions, mentor a bit, but to believe that she is in charge of training makes me guffaw.
