I always thought it was a laid-back California thing.  I've used the term all my life and always will.

I don't watch her shows but that term wouldn't really bother me......

"You guys" is becoming a gender neutral term.   That's just the way it is.

Not in my part of the country, I live in the South, and we normally say you "all" or y'all, you "ladies" and sometimes, you "girls"!

I'd like to add that creepy "she's here" Lori and Amy et. al., use to refer to shirts.  I find it terribly repulsive to equate a piece of cloth with a living (or dead) woman!!  And I am a huge consumer of LOGO products.

Bothers me when Lori, and IM refer to the clothes as "She".

And when the host on the Beauty Channel

refers to customers as, "Beauties".

No problem with "you guys". Maybe because it's quite commonly used where I live?

I do abhor this trend towards labeling groups of shoppers:  Tribe, Linea Ladies, Tartlettes (or whatever they are called), to name a few.  Sooo high school

Me too although I'm not from CA. I've used the term since high school and that was in the 70s!

Had to reregister.  Got a new computer and lost everything!

Does it bother anyone besides me that Lori Goldstein refers to everyone as "you guys"?

I am not a" guy" and do not want to be called by that word.  How many "guys" are watching her?

I am a guy and I usually watch! lol

@Swissguy  Good, I'm glad you do, since Lori is addressing you, not me, when she says "you guys."

@Dobilyn  I started a thread on this a while ago and it got so contentious between who was bothered by it and who wasn't that the Mods deleted the thread!

It bothers me. I'm not a guy.    I think there was a generation gap in opinion: the younger posters here didn't mind and the older ones did (generally).  I'm a senior and a professional and I don't like being addressed as "you guys."  I think Lori should realize what demographic is buying her clothes and address her audience with a little more respect than she does.

People fight over the silliest things here imo...
