Re: Looks like my entire family is in the direct path of the storm in NJ so far.

I hope that everyone in NJ and elsewhere has made their preparations. I pray everyone will be safe and we all will be well on the other side of this terrible storm. Jesus's name is bigger than Juno.

Ford, check in when you can. Take care. I hope all our worry is for nothing.

Sleep? Ford, you know good and well that you won't sleep. I hope you all at least get some rest and it's not as horrible as they are predicting. Keep your phone near you and snuggle in.

The only thing I worry about for myself is losing power. We all received notes stuck in our doors today advising us if we had any emergencies to call 911, not management. What heroes they are.

I worry most about my daughter who lives on LBI of course, and that she may try to go to work (which I doubt will be possible). I'm sure there will be significant flooding and wind damage. And my little sick daughter could lose power, plus there are many trees around her house. My youngest gets really panicked and extremely upset at any storm and she also lives alone.

I'm sick of hearing about it and yet I keep watching it. Maybe I should turn on QVC? That always puts me to sleep!!

Yes, preds, hopefully it's mostly hype and we won't get hit with this so hard as projected.

Just curious, what does your complex do when there are emergencies at other times?

I would think you could still call them if there is a power outage...how is that an emergency? Do you pay your electric bill to the power company or to the complex? I think they must have meant medical emergency.

My aunt and uncle lived in a so called retirement community and were told to call 911 as the complex didn't want any medical liability issues.

There was a "tornado" supposedly headed right toward us last fall. A few of us gathered in the downstairs bathroom. Management didn't even mention it . . . and we didn't get the tornado. But we all realized that we are on our own here.

That isn't right. Sheesh... what is wrong with them?

Take care during the storm and to your daughters too.

I hope and pray that everyone stays warm and safe.

At least there has been so much warning about it, that everyone's should be prepared.

I hope and pray everyone stays safe! They have just downsized our amount in PA tremendously. We had snow and are still getting more all night long tonight but not what they said originally. But our roads, well that's another story. In this country town we live in they NEVER salt or plow. Its ridiculous! People are complaining about it on facebook tonight!

We dodged the bullet here, for which I am very grateful. However, this storm is not over yet for millions of our northeastern neighbors, so I cannot rejoice in it.

So glad you are all okay, Ford!! Whew!!

I would rather be prepared than blindsided and am grateful for the over predicting that our weather people and over preparing that our authorities do to protect us.

My family is getting hit with this storm in Nova Scotia. A main stretch of hwy going into the province all the way to Truro has been closed to traffic due to white out conditions. Almost every business closed at noon...even the shopping mall has closed.
