Example: It's more fun to, say, ask about a recipe for 'this' and for 'that'.  Sure, we can all find millions of exact recipies for exactly what we are looking (for)..........But, it's more fun to ask other posters for thier favorites.  It's all being a part of a 'community' of sorts.  Chatting about 'this and that', in a friendly way.  Sort of a friendly gathering of nice online 'friends'.  .......... Dare I say that it could be rather lonely, looking up (Web searching) every single thing in life.  Sort of (slightly and more or less) anti-social, if you ask me.

I use "Qoogle"

QVC community chat search engine.

You can get advice, information and insults all in one place in 10 seconds or less.

I have been using it for over 10 years now.

It's great! Smiley LOL

For some, I think it might be a feeling of trusting their fellow Q posters' info more than the rest of the world's.  It's understandable that familiarity can help someone's comfort level.

But while I appreciate gaining more knowledge here, I prefer to get it from a wider diversity of people.  Google truly is my friend  ;-)

Plus it's waaayyyy faster.

@feline groovy, yup. Just ask Bernie Madoff.

@Moonchilde Personally, it doesn't bother me a bit.

A connection?  An idea?  A conversation started?  Maybe not sure exactly what they need to ask in order to Google it.

I agree it's a way to start a thread or a "conversation starter."

Just remember to delete your "search history" immediately afterwards, or you will be bombarded with ads..............

I think there are some people who don't know how to google.  Sometimes it does take some skill knowing how to refine a search.

Um not really. I really don't think it takes a lot of skill to ask a question. I Google everything!
