I'd like to file a claim for the damages to this home at this address that my out of control kids damaged while having a party while the owners were in Costa Rica. Please send them a check for the damages. Thanks, your Loyal Customer of however many years.
haha He'd laugh me right out of the office. And probably cancel the rest of my policies for good measure.

I am including today's follow up story. The cat sitter's lawyer said that the family has submitted a claim to THEIR insurance company in the Binders' behalf and has gotten a claim #....so I guess it can be done (but who knows if the insurance company will then sue the kids involved or their families for restitution?)

I know I would be furious if that had happened to me! The cat sitter is certainly at fault for telling her friends, but they must also share responsibility for their actions; each and everyone of them! I don't believe the homeowner should be reimbursed for the trip but most certainly for all damages & for the money that was stolen. Doesn't matter that they have the best education provided to them; they still behaved like thugs! Btw, two of the cats were so traumatized that they didn't come out of hiding for several days after the family returned home!
My son went to Canisius...I went to Nardin. I live in the city...the bishop's neighborhood.
Check out the crazy posts...one guy said the kids were envious of their rich friend who went on a trip....another said no one living in the city could afford to have cash at home - he must be lying...another guy said it was a symptom of public education (even though a lot of the kids went to private schools)!!!!!
Not many are calling for the kids to be rounded up and prosecuted.
Binder & Binder have obviously sued a lot of folks, as PI lawyers...but they didn't deserve this!

Disgusting! I'd personally be wanting all new carpets, walls painted, new mattress, pillows etc - based on what these kids did who knows where all those bodily fluids went. Or what else they did that the home owners haven't discovered yet.

I look at things very basically. Right is right and wrong is wrong. Since the cat sitter is a minor her parents will be responsible for her actions. As for other kids involved, I feel if I was a parent of one of them, I would feel terrible and expect my child to apologize and also insist they do some kind of community service and provide financial assistance where possible.
Asking for payment for the vacation is uncalled for. I wouldn't want to gouge anyone., i.e. expensive replacements.

When they returned home a day later from the vacation, they said they found their home littered with used condoms, vomit, urine and feces on beds, rugs and furniture. There were holes knocked into walls, graffiti on walls, and $6,000 in cash and some keepsake jewelry were missing.
So how did they come home to find used condoms, vomit, and feces - when also according to the article the cat sitter - and her parents - spent so much time cleaning up? Wouldn't those have been the first things to clean up?

The cat sitter's mom took bedspreads and other linens to the drycleaners first, then went over. Her daughter had been at the home all morning...I can only imagine what condition it was in!
It appears the family wasn't well liked - and some of the damage to her daughter's bed was done on purpose.
Not an excuse...just repeating what was said on social media.

I'd be wanting it gone through with one of those lights they use on those shows that highlight how nasty some hotel rooms are. And let the parents of the partiers and pet sitter foot the bill for health inspection, repairs AND replacements where necessary.

Well if they deliberately left the vomit, condoms and feces for the family to find when they came home, I can see how this escalated so rapidly.
