Living in multi-story home.........

We have always lived in a single story ranch style home and will be re-locating soon. Newer homes seem to be a least 2 story if not multi-level. I just can't see myself going up and down stairs.I think my day would be up and down all day for laundry, oops forgot to get someting? I'm not concerned about the physical part of stairs. If the recreational part of the home is in a basement that might be ok but when the necessary rooms are upstairs...I just don't know? anyone regret selecting a multilevel home?
