Re: Lisa Robertson - Closing her On Line Business

[ Edited ]

I know the cruise line industry very well.

What will be once a year buy her but a few thousand dollars or she and her husband a free trip?

The pastor, Rabbi, etc for service's,   dancer's get the cruise for free but enjoy the travel.

This is the way it goes.

So if this is what she  and new hubby are looking for that is great and I wish them well.  A wonderful way to retire if she can keep up her following. I suspect they will drop off though unless they are getting a real discount with only a bit of time.

I said it above before. No advertising, no $$$.

Well that's all fine and good  but this is a fast paced world.

I have always liked her and think it was a big mistake to  leave QVC while she was still young and could have saved up some more money for old age. A few stalkers?  They would have passed easily.  I think she thought it best to make it on her own. Not so in the end.

Well now she is here with a new husband, an online business that went down, plus a not so smart thought out farm where no one wants to live in albeit  very pretty.

Good real estate is so hot right now, there is little inventory.  As well as good rentals.  But yet it's been on the market a long, long time for that asking price.

Lisa - location, location, location.

Anyway,  I think this cruise idea will wither away as well.  We live in a throw away society today. She will eventually sell the place at a reasonable price, and it wil be plenty for retirement for the two of them.  She's now a cruise lady?  Oh boy.....

Here today, gone tomorrow sad as they say but true.

We must remember this in our new A1 robotic world.\

Lisa, who?????

Good luck Lisa.

I think the other problem is she remodeled to fit her business needs. This could be a drawback for someone interested in buying but not the remodel. As I recall, one building is an office. Most realtors will advise you to lower a price if it sits on the market too long. It would need to be an all cash buyer. Maybe the location is not desirable.

@elated  this has been discussed here before just to let you know.

It is a beautiful property but not a deserable one for anyone who wants to spend million's.

I too held a realtor's license for all of 3 years, as I could not stand it.  If something has not sold in more than 60 days it's time to lower the price.

It doesn't seem she is budging.  This means it is not desirable as it's been an awful long time on the market, my goodness.

She need's a new "agent" one who can talk some sense into her and move the property.

"Compass" is a very good realty company and they will sell it for the correct price (as are others, of course).  So it seems to me she is not really eager.

This is a very stale listing. ayayaya.  Best.

Re: Lisa Robertson - Closing her On Line Business

Reading all these posts are interesting. I wouldn’t want to be in Lisa’s shoes for several reasons.
1.) a mansion that doesn’t seem to be selling.
2.) an online business that closed down rather quickly in the scheme of things. ( I would agree w/ the poster that said she closed it because she overpriced everything and sales were down and it has little to do “with spending time w/ new husband”.
3.) I like to cruise. I have gone on many. But why would I want to sign up for cruises w/Lisa and her (only my opinion) questionable husband? Instead, I’ll sign up directly w/Celebrity, Norwegian, Princess, where my member number is already established and could possiblyget incentive prices.
4.) and a bf/now husband that came to her looking for a job because he was unemployed. At least if he was independent and an executive like Jen Coffeys fiancé, then it would have been fine!
All I could say is Good Luck Lisa- you’ve worked very hard thru all these years, and hope things fall into place (post) LR online life.

Re: Lisa Robertson - Closing her On Line Business

As of today, 10/23/23, it's been on the market for 67 days.  For that type of property, it's not going to go too fast.

I'm sure she'd lower the price if she were desperate.  I hope she holds out and even if she does lower the price, makes a great profit.

Although Capital Gains is a b____.

Maybe she can subdivide since there's so much land.

I've never had a property used as a place of business other than for rental purposes, but maybe she can deduct expenses until it sells.  Don't know that much about a home business, tbh.

That's cool she is doing travel now.  We went with friends who chartered trips (planes) to Mexico, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Jamaica and Hawaii.  It was originally friends, then friends of friends and family of friends of friends.  It was a great group!

My husband has an annual golf outing that has a waitlist now.  No air travel, but still over 40 people.

I can see Lisa gathering enough people to do some fantastic trips.

The fact is, she's doing it.  I applaud her.

I hope Lisa has more luck with her cruise than QVC had with theirs. Anyone remember that debacle?

I haven't read all of the posts, but I do know that Lisa is a smart woman and business woman. I'm sure that she is making the best decisions for herself going forward.

If you look at the property history, her house was first listed on 6/2/23 and then again on 8/17/23 for the same asking price. It has been on the market for approximately 140 days.

Re: Lisa Robertson - Closing her On Line Business

Wow! That is some house! I guess I never imagined her being THAT wealthy. I didn't follow her after she left QVC, so I really didn't know what she was up to.
