I too thought it might be on BRAVO...it is on Lifetime though...right now!

There's a phenomenon called "<em>hate-watching</em>."
People watch shows with the intent to dissect and ridicule the show or the participants. I first came across the term when looking for articles about the NBC show "Peter Pan Live!"
The online definition of hate-watching:
"<em>Hate</em>-<em>watching</em> is the act of watching a show that you claim to dislike with the sole purpose of mocking it."
I'm not a fan of Lisa's, but I've also never been one to come here with harsh criticism of her. I'm a huge PR fan, so I'll see the show as usual. However, I'll bet some folks will be viewing Project Runway All-Stars tonight so they can dissect her performance and complain about it in the forums.

But it's that way for everything. We talk about television programs that we like or dislike. We talk about our favorite actors and actresses and who said what as well as who was wearing what. The live performance of Carrie Underwood was discussed at length. I too will watch Project Runway and then probably come here to give my opinion. I was always a fan of hers and watched PM Style for years although preferred Isaac's products more than hers. I've watched programs on other networks already that Lisa was on and sometimes felt she was too stiff and I probably posted that here. So what! We make comments about all who are in the public eye.

I don't know about you but I don't watch any kind of programming if I do not like the person in it.
I think dooBdoo is specifically talking about someone who watches not to be entertained but to hate on the person. They only watch for the sole purpose to find fault with the programming.
Thanks, SRD -- that's correct. Everyone watches shows and then, perhaps, likes to talk about them, even critique them.
This phenomenon, however, is different, as the definition says:
"The act of
watching a show that you claim to dislike
with the
sole purpose of mocking it."
Weird, I know. But it seems to fit in with the negative side of social media -- "let's find something we don't like, watch it, and then we can ridicule it!"

I just would never think to put LR and Isaac in the same category. Lisa left her ""little pond"" before this episode aired tonight....she is no longer a ""big fish"" but Isaac is still a successful designer.

Mike Rowe is the only ex-host who is known outside of home shopping channels.
Dave King has made a name for himself on network TV>

Dave King...that's right! But it's hard to compare anyone to Mike Rowe...he's "stratospheric" popular whereas everyone else is "barely getting on the tollway"!
.
I would say in terms of the public & known-outside-QVC....David Venable ranks nicely behind Mike Rowe. David's exposure to celebrity on-air guests, work on talk shows & ITKWD endorsement with PBS...that grants him a nice foothold outside the Q umbrella. Lisa will do well, but unfortunately the Fashion Industry is a tough gig. There's not a lot of name recognition.
