The J.D. Concert I went to was in my home town. Omaha, Nebraska. No autographs, just music. Never been into getting autographs, my 3 older sisters? Very different. Think the music was vinyl back then, or maybe Cassette or 8 track.

I'm sure he was, especially for support for Riley. I think Lisa Marie was at his house when she was stricken. I believe he gave her CPR until help arrived. I could be wrong, that is something I read in the very beginning.
From what I understand, she couldn't live in the house that their son committed suicide in, so Lisa moved in with him.
Again, I could be wrong.
I did not know that.

Yes, at 1 of his concerts here, he introduced everyone. Each by name and instrument, then had them play a short rif. Even the guy(Charlie Hodge maybe?) that put the scarfs around his neck.
The Sweet Inspirations were the warm-up act on at least 1 of his concerts here. Never bought any of their music, but bought everything I could find with J.D. The Stamps/Blackwood Brothers/Masters V/ /Statesmen/Sunshine Boys.
If he put out an album, I found most of them. Vinyl/Cassette/8-track/CD and his few DVD's. Had them all(past tense). Basement Sewage Flood I lost a lot of them.😡😡😡

I was more familiar with The Jordanaires as Elvis' background singers. I think they stopped singing with him when he stopped making movies and focused on concerts/stage performances.

@hckynutjohn This is the album I bought at the Elvis Memorial concert in October 1977 and signed by J D Sumner and the Stamps. This was in Oklahoma City.

The whole song by Alanis Morrisette at the service (Rest) was so fitting and beautiful.

I could be mistaken but it's my understanding, that the home belonged to Lisa Marie. After her son died she purchased another home.Danny Keogh, her first ex & the father of Riley & Ben, lived there with her. They had remained very close since they divorced & the death of their son brought them back together. Yes, Danny was there as Riley's dad, but also as Lisa Marie's partner.

@NicksmomESQ You're probably right. The home most likely would've been Lisa's.
I don't think Danny ever had any money and a home there would've been cost prohibitive.
I just read a little while ago about Riley saying that she lived mostly with her dad growing up and he lived in trailers with mattresses on the floor.
Once, when she was young, she said to him that she couldn't wait to grow up and be poor like him.

I saw some news coverage of the memorial service today. It looked like a lot of people attended and they were having the crowds moving and not standing in a large group. I am sure Lisa Marie would have be pen pleased to know she had such a showing of love and support. It seems she didn't feel much of that during her life.

Lucky you with the autographs!
Had, or still might have that album. Saw that picture with J.D. but never had one. When J.D. sang the real low notes, I could feel the fastened downed seats in the venue vibrate. Can feel the same with my Surround System I set up with 2 subwoofers.
Great times, I still listen or watch some videos, pretty often still. Will never get old to me.
