Myah Autry, the woman who climbed into the Bronx Zoo lion den is now in the custody of New York City police. She was identified and arrested by police in Brooklyn near the Barclays Center last evening. She has been charged with criminal trespass.
*She essentially turned herself in. She posted a message on Instagram informing the police where she would be to be picked up.

I hope she gets some help. I saw her on youtube, and she seemed very disturbed acting to me

It would have been a terrible thing if that lion had to be put down because of someone w/"mental" issues. Why don't these people just stay home?
They're smart enough to know all about social media, filming, posting photo's and videos, but don't have any common sense? Someone looking for their 15 minutes of fame imo. I'm just glad the lion is OK (or at least as OK as he can be in a zoo).

Maybe because they are ill, and don't know any better?

She has some sort of mental condition, I hope she gets help for it.

Well the lion sleeps tonight
Lion Lady won't.
I'm glad neither lion nor Myah were hurt or killed. I hope there is someone to step up to help her during this time and also to be an advocate for her mental well being.

@Johnnyeager When I first saw the video I was in shock! The lion was confused too - I sort of believe since her mental state allowed her to climb into a lion exhibit she was not putting out an aura of fear - like prey (or any other rational human being who found themselves in a lion's cage) . I believe that lack of fear phereomone confused the lion who possibly thought of her as one of the trained handlers & definitely bought her time to leave unscathed. I've been to the Bronx Zoo more than once. It is top notch & the animals are very well cared for by the staff.
I saw a local reporter interview this woman and she believes she is now "the lion" in spirit.

That's good....perhaps she needs to be on some type of medication or isn't taking hers! I also remember....didn't she go in the other animal areas too? giraffes?

Update: Myah, pictured below in an NYPD tee shirt during her court appearance was arraigned in Bronx criminal court and released on her own recognizance.
She interrupted proceedings numerous times with shouts proclaiming that she is a "Black Israelite", "Shalom" and was told to be quiet by the judge and her attorney.
A friend who accompanied her drove her away from the courthouse after she continued her rant with reporters waiting outside.

I think she clearly needs help. I saw her in a video and she had the wildest looking eyes I have ever seen, and she was just babbling not making any sense. I suppose she could have been under the influence, but , it seemed to me, more than that
