Re: Lifelock - who has it???

I have had the lesser Lifelock plan for the past year. They monitor your accounts and SS# daily. If there is any fraudulent activity they guarantee up to $1 million coverage for any legal fees. I have called them a couple of times during the year with questions and they seem to be very accommodating and on the ball. In addition to Lifelock I have place a 90-day fraud alert with the 3 credit bureaus. All you have to do is place it with one of the bureaus and it is automatically sent to the other 2. This is renewable every 90 days.

If you have already experienced fraud you are eligible to place a 7-year fraud alert with the 3 credit bureaus and that is what you should do.

Why would you have legal fees if someone fraudulently used your CC?

If you put a notification on your cards, you will get an e-mail or text immediately every time your card is used.

And it's free.

The Lifelock literature sounds like something your bank already does for you for free.

It sounds like a ripoff to me...

I think it's a major rip off...spouted by the usual radio bloviators who get a commission for selling this product to people who look up to them.

Not necessary.
