Life Before Multiplexes--Did You Have Grand, Old Movie Theaters In Your Area?

We did. One I remember distinctly was the RKO Palace. It was palatial and ornate (okay, garish lol) with a winding staircase and trim that looked like gold, and marble counters. I also remember cases in which they'd sell memorabilia related to the movie currently showing--usually Disney-related mementos.
