Life After Life (Kate Atkinson)

I read this awhile ago, as did many of you.

Can someone refresh my memory...lwhat was the point of the book? I know it was a ground hog day/deja vu kind of story. But I don't remember that there was anything that she did (or didn't do) at the book's end.

Anyone?
