Liberty Media (QVC owner) Bids to Buy Barnes & Noble

WOW...Jack C. Malone who is Liberty Media's primary stock holder/owner has put in a bid to purchase Barnes & Noble with Len Riggio, BN's originator. Liberty Media happens to own QVC among other venues; Expedia; Sirrius XM; Atlanta Braves to name a few. What an interesting move. No question BN is "in-it-to-win-it" in the digital world with their award winning Nook. What a brilliant marketing strategy this could be for BN. It is clear we can hear the "swan song" for Borders; leaving BN the only book store "dance" in town. Right now, there has to be book stores. Looks like BN will be all of that. BN is without question the smarter book store. They sent out invitations to the media to attend a press release party to announce a new digital unit May 24th. Stay tuned....do not ever count out BN!
