Li Wenliang, the doctor who first alerted others to the coronavirus, and was reprimanded by police in China, has died at age 34 from the virus.
RIP.

WOW, I think this is going to be worst than many people initially thought. This is terrible.

RIP. I wonder if the Chinese government had anything to do with this man's demise, given that he'd crossed them only a month before by blowing the cover off the health crisis.

From Forbes:
"An AI-powered simulation run by a technology executive says that Coronavirus could infect as many as 2.5 billion people within 45 days and kill as many as 52.9 million of them."
Pretty sobering.

@noodleann, could you please post a link or copy that article here. I think it's important for people to read it themselves.

I can’t even imagine the courage it took to stand up and tell the Chinese officials the truth about something they wanted to silence and deny.
I hope he can RIP. I’m thankful he fought on the frontline and I’m sad it cost him his life.

Wow, he was so young. I wonder if he had any other medical issues that complicated things. The virus is not any worse than the flu for most people but it can very serious (they say) for those who are over 60 and those with respiratory disease.

If you're concerned about those numbers given by the AI, you should read the entire article. It indicates that many medical professionals and the developer of the model himself know that it is flawed, not taking into account a number of variables which change constantly, such as human behavior.
Things are much, much less serious than the AI model would lead one to believe. Notice that even if the infection rate rises, the mortality rate is dropping.

@Johnnyeager, as I imagined. Thanks.
