She was born in July, 1921, so 92. This was intended for ShowMe BTW.

How about Kathleen Madigan to replace him?

There is an article in the Daily Mail UK stating that Chelsea Handler is a front runner for the position. She won't be renewing her contract at E! channel either. Stephen Colbert is also mentioned.

chelsea handler comes to mind.

Do you like her, evelo? I can't take her for long but like some of her panel guests.

i have a love hate relationship with her. when she's funny, she's hilarious but when she's mean, she's nasty mean.

it's high time for a woman to fill one of these late night chairs.

I agree. She can be very funny.

Why do all of you think there should be another host show.....personally, I think there are enough as it is. How about something new and different.....that could peak the interest of everyone.

Re: Letterman retiring next year

Yeaaaaaaaaaaars ago, David Letterman was good; great, even. But now, not so much and I'm glad to see he recognizes that it's time to leave and, hopefully, on a high note.

Dave himself is 67 or 68 so he mother would be will into her 80's, if not 90's.

Who do you think would be a good successor? I've given some thought to -- now don't yell at me -- Oprah Winfrey. She hasn't done comedy, and especially not that kind of comedy, before. I think she could get good at it but the problem would be that she'd always end up making everything all about herself.

Anyway, good luck Dave Letterman, and happy landings.
